Mourinho played a match against his son

Mourinho spent yesterday's afternoon playing a practice game with his son. Actually, he played the game against his son because the match faced the Canillas youth team and some parents. The appointment was in the San Roque field. The Portuguese coach arrived at 6:55 pm with his son, Zuca, who plays for the neighborhood team and was one more within the parent group. Mourinho did not hesitate to spend much of the game playing tricks on opponents and made clear that he is in a good shape.

The match between parents and children was organized to celebrate the end to the season of the Canillas youth squad. Many of its members change their category and the practice game served as a farewell for children. Yesterday, the important was not the result.

Mourinho showed again the privacy he likes to keep his family and, through his bodyguards, requested not to take photos of the practice game. Finally, after a few minutes of conversation with the press, two security members, with the authorization of the coach, allowed the press taking photos, but only for a couple of minutes.

The children team wore red clothing in honor of the Spanish national team, while the parents played in white shirts. How could it be otherwise, many of them with kits of Real Madrid. Not so Mourinho, who wore one of UCLA, where Madrid has made its pre-season the last two years and where will repeat this summer. After the meeting, all the players enjoyed a snack in the same field.

Today, Mourinho will leave Madrid to travel to Singapore, where he will participate in several charity actions. There he will also meet with several members of the government of the country and will visit the tycoon Peter Lim, one of the world's richest men and majority shareholder of McLaren. Real Madrid coach will use the trip to visit Malaysia and Indonesia. In these countries he will also have meetings with local authorities. Throughout this tour of Asian lands will be joined by his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Mourinho: "Xavi has to play football"

Jose Mourinho replied to Xavi for his statements that the FC Barcelona midfielder made to Spanish media, in which the player said: "Mourinho is not going to stay in football history. Barcelona has always been exemplary and we cannot say the same about Real Madrid". According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Real Madrid coach thinks Xavi has not been fair with him nor with Real Madrid and advised the midfielder that: "Xavi has to do what he can do, to play football". The article in the Portuguese newspaper also noted that in the opinion of the Real Madrid coach, Xavi does not need to be nice and populist to become what he already is, an idol of Barça.

Mourinho's spokesman, Eladio Parames also answered the second captain of Barcelona via Twitter: "Mr. Xavi: check your memory and not forget who supported you and helped you, when you were unknown in the world of football and you took the first steps in Barcelona". Minutes earlier, Parames had ironized to respond to the statement made by the Spanish international about Mourinho and the football history: "Mr. Xavi: to stay in football history you have to win the championship in five European countries. Mourinho won only in four ... ".

The Portuguese coach will attend the Euro 2012 to see the evolution of some interesting players for the summer market and to support his international players: "I believe it is my duty to stand by my players at such an important moment for them. I wish them all the luck in the world in a great tournament I value especially both for its sporting-competitive and socio-cultural significance". Yesterday he was seeing the match between Germany and Portugal which ended with a victory for the Özil and Khedira's national team by 1-0.

Mourinho wants to extend Xabi Alonso's contract

Jose Mourinho wants to have Xabi Alonso until he ceases to be coach of Real Madrid. The manager and white coach has told to the player about the desire to have him in the template all the duration of his project and this, as was announced last week, has been extended until 2016.

Jose Mourinho and Xabi Alonso during a Real Madrid match
Jose Mourinho and Xabi Alonso

The midfielder's contract expires in June 2014, two years before the new contract Mourinho has signed in recent days. This means that the club will start working on expanding the relationship with the Spanish player who faces his penultimate season at Real Madrid. Although there is no hurry, he is regarded as a man of the club

The player came in 2009, after paying 27 million euros to Liverpool, and signed for five seasons. Although there has been no formal negotiations, have taken the first steps to transmit him confidence, make him see that is a key element in this template, and that despite the 30 years he has, his age is not an obstacle. Just the opposite.

Portuguese coach likes to have the main players close, players to be a reference inside and outside the field for younger, fans and rivals. At critical moments is when such players are the most important because they never hide nor give up. In this kind of moments and matches, Xabi meets all requirements.

In the club offices is known that the player is necessary for the long-term project that Florentino Perez and Mourinho want to develop. To provide continuity and help grow a young team and sometimes inexperienced, the club has set the target, to extend the contract of Xabi Alonso, a veteran and a professional example. Also, today he is still irreplaceable. Nuri Sahin, player who has been signed to take his replacement, has to continue learning alongside the Spanish midfielder.

There will be Xabi Alonso for many years. He plans to return one day to Real Sociedad team, where he started and where he wants to hang up his boots, but now is in the sports maturity and has the ambition to win the best titles. He knows that at Real Madrid can be achieved.

Lucas Moura to sing for Real Madrid in 2013

The presence of Jose Mourinho last Saturday in Hamburg to see the match Brazil vs Denmark has returned to the stage the interest of Real Madrid on the Brazilian international player Lucas Moura (Sao Paulo). But in no case it was considered as a decisive step for an immediate signing.

Lucas Moura training with Sao Paulo
Lucas Moura

In fact, this particular circumstance of spying by the coach has not changed at all the intentions there are in the white club with the player. The best option that Real Madrid provides for now is to try to secure a purchase option so the player can continue to play at least a year in Sao Paulo.

Moreover, there were few new conclusions that Mourinho could get during the friendly. Lucas Moura played out of his natural position, placed to the left and with little presence in the offensive game of his team. Nothing to do with the active participation that he often provides in Sao Paulo when he plays as playmaker.

Lucas Moura's performance did not convince Mourinho and the coach talked about it with members of the white club. The Portuguese thinks Moura is not ready to make the leap from Brazil to a team from the requirement of Real Madrid this summer. Mourinho is also aware that Sao Paulo will ask for more than 25 million euros (rejected an offer of that amount from Inter Milan) and there are several major European teams interested in him. So the operation would be too expensive, especially if the coach is unsure of his performance.

The white coach's decision is not based on this match with Brazil. Real Madrid managed good reports of the player and had provided to Mourinho several videos and data of the Brazilian player. So after his journey through Turkey. Mourinho moved to Itmech Arena in Hamburg with his agent, Jorge Mendes, and his son to see Lucas Moura live.

After the friendly match, Moura himself admitted that he knew the interest of Mourinho: "I did not know he was here, but I knew he would see the game somehow". Sao Paulo's president, Juvenal Juvencio, has also talked about this: "Real Madrid is one of those who are interested in him". But the player's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has said he will stay in Brazil until 2014. Moura agreed with his agent: "It is too early to go to Europe". Mourinho thinks the same that the player.

Jose Mourinho saw Lucas Moura in Hamburg

Jose Mourinho went yesterday to Hamburg to watch live the match Brazil-Denmark (3-1) where Lucas Moura played, the Sao Paulo's playmaker Real Madrid is interested on. Mourinho traveled from Turkey to Hamburg, accompanied by his son, to watch a duel in which Marcelo also started. Television pictures pointed to the coach of Real Madrid at the break.

His presence in the Imtech Arena was picked up by several media and on Twitter, where even had the answer of Eladio Parames (unofficial Mourinho's agent): "He may have been to see Lucas or the other 21 players than have play". In addition to Lucas, the coach wanted to see Danilo, the Porto right-back who was loaned last winter to Santos, and the Danish Daniel Wass, right side ,22 (international player in all categories) belonging to Benfica but is on loan at the Evian Thonon of the First French (he can play right and left, and even as end, but does not improve the performance of Carvajal, the Real Madrid Castilla player).

The parents of Lucas and his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, visited the Bernabeu stadium on April 14 (They were caught by the cameras) and had dinner with Florentino Perez. Sao Paulo president acknowledged recently that Real Madrid is the most interested club in the player. Lucas renewed last year until 2015 with Sao Paulo, which rejected an Inter MIlan offer (25 million euros). His contract's termination clause is 80 million, and the player himself (the father) owns 20 percent of the rights of his transfer, which will be 30 percent from next July. At 19, Lucas is the biggest star of Brazil with Neymar and both will be in the Olympic Games.

Jose Mourinho: After the footsteps of Del Bosque

Jose Mourinho can make more history at Real Madrid. Beyond the titles already won and which he can get, the Portuguese can become the second coach to stay longer on the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu stadiun. The first, Miguel Muñoz, was the Real Madrid coach for 16 seasons. A record that seems not to be at risk. After Muñoz there are a lot of important names to overtake: Di Stefano managed the white team 3 season, Beenhakker (4) and also Del Bosque (6).

Jose Mourinho

On May 28, 2010 was made official the signing of Jose Mourinho by Real Madrid. Three days later, was introduced as new coach at a press conference in which he was accompanied by Jorge Valdano. Mourinho is therefore about to turn two years at the Bernabeu bench, despite the many rumors about his departure that have accompanied him almost from day one.

Those two years make him the more long-lived coach on the bench for Real Madrid since 2003, when Del Bosque was not renewed and Florentino Perez decided to put the team in the hands of Carlos Queiroz. The current Spanish national team coach has been a total of six seasons at the helm of white team, although in two of them acted as interim coach. A record that Mourinho could match if he fulfills the contract was made public on Tuesday.

Closer to the Portuguese coach remain other legends of Real Madrid, as Alfredo Di Stefano, Vujadin Boskov and Jose Villalonga (3 seasons), Leo Beenhakker, Miljan Miljanic, Francisco Bru and John B. Toshack (4). Ahead, only the aforementioned Del Bosque and Luis Molowny (6 seasons) and the legendary Miguel Muñoz, 14 of his 16 years without interruption, in the command of the white squad.

Mourinho and Terim talked about Altintop and Lass Diarra

Jose Mourinho and Fatih Terim had dinner yesterday at the Lesottomans hotel at 7:00 pm (local time). Both coaches have a good relationship, in fact, they give praises each other whenever they can, and Turkish coach asked Mourinho about the situation of Altintop and Lass Diarra.

Photomontage with Altintop in Galatasaray jersey
Hamit Altintop is close to Galatasaray

The case of former Bayern player is easier. He has one foot in the Ottoman team, in fact, a newspaper in Turkey did a photomontage in which the Real Madrid player wears a shirt of Galatasaray. In the morning, Mourinho opened the door to a possible transfer: "Hamit is a very important player in Turkey. I have a great relationship with him. He is a great player and a great person. I would be happy if he stays, but if he wants a change of air, is his life. If he wants to return to Turkey, if he thinks it is the best for his career, we will help him". In addition, Terim coincided with Altintop in his time as coach in Galatasaray and the player is a recognized Galatasaray fan since childhood. In Turkey some claim that the club could pay him nearly 3 million euros per season (in Real Madrid earns 2.2) and would sign as a free agent.

The case of the French player is different. Lass Diarra has signed a preliminary agreement with Galatasaray, as reported by Spanish media, but Real Madrid does not have a firm offer for him and he will not leave the white team as a free agent. As reported in Turkey, the Ottoman club could expect to pay eight million euros for his transfer. Terim wants a man to replace Felipe Melo and Nuri Sahin is not for sale, so he talked his friend Mourinho about the possibility of selling them Lass, but there is nothing definitive.

Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid until 2016

Jose Mourinho gave an exclusive interview to the club's official media after signing a contract extension that will keep him at Real Madrid until 2016. Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid joined yesterday their destinations until June 2016. There will be two more seasons both parties agreed in the first contract of May 31, 2010, when 'The Special One' joined Real after breaking his link with Inter Milan. The official announcement was: "Real Madrid CF and Jose Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the latter's contract with the club until 30 June 2016."

Jose Mourinho in the Real Madrid trophy room
Jose Mourinho will coach Real Madrid until 2016

Madridista until 2016. What does that feel like?
I feel happy. I wouldn’t have signed this contract extension otherwise. I would like Madridistas to be happy, not just myself, the President, Jose Angel Sanchez and the Board. They’ve had faith in me and believe I am the ideal coach for the project we have until 2016. I would want Madridismo to be happy about this. I think most of them will be happy with the decision I and the Board have reached. I’ve been talking to the players in the last few months analysing this situation and I profoundly feel the squad in general is happy with this decision. My wife and children, who are key in my decisions, are as well.

What prompted you and the club to extend your contract to 2016?
The overall project; the wish of the President to have a long term project, which is something unusual in today’s football; the confidence he has always had in me and my work; and the special feeling I always said was important when there were rumours about me leaving. I’ve always said that’s very important to me and that I would stay while the fans, the team and the club were happy and confident in with my work. I’ve gotten to know this club and its great qualities better, as well as the small problems it has like any other institution or person. I’m delighted to stay on and plan the sporting future of Real Madrid’s first team, and we know we must obviously focus more on the short-term and talk little about the distant future. That’s what we’ve tried to do in the last couple of years; we work for the future and think about the future. A look at our squad shows we’re thinking about the future, but a club of this dimension needs results and to win, and that’s what we’ve done and will continue to do in the next four years.

Do you feel this has happened because of a job well done?
I think it has happened because of how we all know each other and because of our conviction. I’ve always said this squad is young and that its best years are yet to come. It isn’t a squad with players on the verge of extinction or playing their final years of top tier football. The club, with its incredible social reach and structure, can adapt to the times and to what we’re trying to do. As a manager, I always try to grow and improve. I’ve loved the professional experience I’ve had of working for different clubs in different countries and cultures, and to learn from that while giving my best. I’ve loved that process. It’s different for me now because I’m thinking about a club long-term, and that club is Real Madrid, which has been more demanding and has forced me to do my absolute best due to its difficulties. I’ve had to improve as a coach and a professional. I think it is the perfect challenge for the next four years because you always have to do more when things are hardest. I need these great challenges in the maturity of my career; I need things to force me to be better.

Do you feel happy? Do you feel the club is happy with you?
We’ve been talking about this for a long time and we never wanted to sign or make it public in a rush. This is an important family, with important players and important supporters. It is a professional challenge to hopefully make all of them happy and I’m ready for it.

What’s the main objective for next season?
At the start of the campaign that’s just finished I told my men I did not want to prioritize. I didn’t want to choose one championship over another. I’ve always said we have to improve collectively and individually, and that we must play football to win both games and supporters. I’m sure Real Madrid gained many supporters throughout the world this year because we played the best football in the world despite not winning the Champions League. But we did win the toughest league title with fantastic football, and I think that’s what’s most important. We have to keep it up. I always say it is hard for those who work seriously and well not to win anything. We won the league title in our second season, just like we had planned, and we’ll see what happens next. But we will not obsess about things because that never helps. The only things we should obsess about are things we are clear on, such as being serious, professional, hardworking and respectful towards Real Madrid’s history, which is most demanding of its professionals. We have a four year project ahead of us and we have to enjoy it.

Are you confident in the squad you have until 2016?
Of course. This is a very young squad and there isn’t a single player who won’t be able to last until 2016, and most of them will reach the year at the peak of their careers. Some will reach it at the end of their footballing days, but none of them will have any problems. It’s normal at this time of the year to see who stays and who goes, and to contact some other players. This is normal in football during the summer, but our squad has been formed. A couple of signings would serve to improve on the team that took 100 points, which is how I believe this Real Madrid side will be remembered. They all deserve our confidence and we will face next season with them.

What will you do now, go on a holiday or continue working?
I’ll work because the responsibilities of my children’s school prevent my wife and I from having a holiday outside Madrid at the moment. I work in the mornings, but I will have 15 days off with my family during which I will disconnect completely from football. I will return to Madrid on 14 July for the tennis match between Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic organised by the Realmadrid Foundation, and I will begin training with those who won’t be in the Euro on 15 July.

Mourinho: "Cristiano deserves to win this year's Ballon d'Or"

Jose Mourinho attended a press conference at Kuwait's Regency Hotel before the tomorrow's friendly match that will face the Real Madrid and the Kuwait national team.

Mourinho in a press conference in Kuwait
Jose Mourinho attending the press conference

What is the objective of Real Madrid in this match?
"This is the first time we visit this country and we do it with curiosity, as if going for the first time to an unknown country. But we are not here as tourists. We are here to play and we will try to win the match. We know it is a friendly match, but Real Madrid always has to elevate its prestige as much as possible. That is why we have travelled with all the team. Everyone will play tomorrow to honour their names and the prestige of Real Madrid. They are a little tired because of the tough season we had and there are players already thinking about the Euro, but everyone is in good form".

Will all the players play?
"We have respect for Kuwait's national team and all the players will play. That is the sign of greater respect but people should realise we just celebrated winning the Spanish league title, we had a seven hour flight and we have hardly trained for this. It is important no injuries tomorrow because many of my men are already thinking about the Euro. We will intend to play a good game and we willl try to win".

What is the main contribution of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid?
"We have won the championship thanks to all the players on the squad, but Cristiano Ronaldo is special because he scores goals in all sorts of ways and in every position. He and Messi are above the rest and, if there is justice in football, Cristiano will win the Ballon d'Or this year".

What about the role of Coentrao, which has been the past season most expensive signing?
"He had some problems of valuation, but not for me or peers, but to the press".

Why have you chosen this date to play in Kuwait?
"Real Madrid wanted to play in Kuwait and has been waiting the opportunity. It would have been difficult to do in the preseason due to short holidays and the weather. My players would have liked to be on holiday now, but they have responded well to this venture for the prestige of Real Madrid. We are here to play a good match".

How would you describe the league title you just won?
"This league title was more complicated than the seven that I won, because we had a rival who is recognized as the best in recent times. It was a titanic struggle between the two best teams in the world".

Will you train today?
It will be in the pool.

Mourinho: "I am already thinking about the future"

Jose Mourinho spoke yesterday about the ended season during the celebration day in the city of Madrid and has given a tremendous value to the league title recently won by Real Madrid. According to the Portuguese, who has won three of the toughest championships in Europe, says that this league championship has been the most costly: "All titles taste good. That is undeniable. But I can say it was the hardest of the seven championships I won. And we must bear in mind that Inter won a championship in the last game", said Portuguese coach.

Mourinho attending the media after celebrates the 32nd League Championship
Jose Mourinho

"This was more difficult because we had an opponent which is recognized as the best team in recent years. And throughout the tournament there was great pressure because if we did not win a match, we could lose points. It was a titanic struggle between the two best teams in the world so it was the most difficult but also very fair", he added.

"Our numbers are incredible and these kids will be remembered as the players who took 100 points. Winning titles is part of Real Madrid's history. Any team would have settled for winning the title with 90 points and 80 goals at the start of the campaign, but we earned incredible numbers. We have established new records. It would be important for the team to win the Champions League after reaching the semifinals two years in a row and most of my players have never won the title. We will win next year or in two years time".

And about the future: "We have to start working again because this club does not allow you to rest after winning a title. It wants its tenth European Cup. It would be important in my career to make Real Madrid history. We have a lot to do even after winning the league title. Results always come when you work without obsessing about things. Celebrations end today and I am already thinking about the future".

Real Madrid sale operation 2012-2013

Mourinho is clear about how many players the team will sign: "We will make two signings to strengthen the group" said recently, but hesitates about how many are going out. He gave some other indications: "Higuain and Sahin will not leave" he acknowledged too, what reduces the blacklist, but there are several white players who have nothing clear their future for next season.

Real Madrid store bag

Adan wants to leave. The goalkeeper believes that he has completed a cycle and with 24 years, which will be 25 next Saturday, wants to go out to play minutes. His situation is reminiscent of Diego Lopez (current Villarreal's goalkeeper). This is a problem because Mourinho had the goal well defended and this would force him to sign other goalie. So he wants to convince Adan and Mourinho is willing to offer him to play the Spanish Cup from start to finish. Then there is the club, which is not going to give away. For less than two million euros is not going to transfer the player.

With Albiol is the same. Mourinho has no objection. He wants the player to stay because the coach values his commitment and professionalism, but the central defender is not ready to lose another year and wants to find a way out. Player's agent is scheduled to meet shortly at Madrid with the sport management of the club. Here the problem is the price of the transfer. Albiol cost 15 million euro just three years ago and the club will want to recover much of the investment. Among other things, to sell would require to sign, and sign well, because although Varane is a future option, can not remain as the only alternative for Pepe and Ramos.

The sale of Kaka is a very delicate operation. In Madrid the staff is very cautious and prudent. Here, what player thinks about is key. He has a score to settle with the fans and to himself and does not lost hope of succeeding in white. On the other hand, is the dream of the World Cup in Brazil, and he needs the minutes that Mourinho is not going to give him. After the decision of the player, who has a pending meeting with Mourinho to discuss his future, Real Madrid will move tab, but is clear that for less than 25 million euro, Kaka does not move. In this sense, the PSG is the only way today.

Lass Diarra will be a headache. Already last year the club got big problems to transfer him. After he wasted the whole summer pre-season wanting to go (he did not attend the tour throught U.S.A. and China) knocked down, at the last moment, the agreement reached between Tottenham and Real Madrid. The problem is that now Lass does not want to leave. He prefers to finish the remaining year of the contract and go free in 2013. It will be very complicated and much more earn some money with a player who cost 24 million euro.

Another problem is Altintop. The Turkish came free, but his salary is too high for the poor performance he has given. Mourinho bet on him for his experience and versatility, but could not make the most he would have liked. So, for what Altintop offers, the club is in favor of a youth squad player, who would be much cheaper. Further after the positive experiences of Granero and Callejon.

Finally there is the issue of Carvalho. Mourinho said he was renewed until 2013, but the club assumes that the announcement will not be a problem and the player will come out.

Mourinho: "I have never wanted to seem perfect"

Jose Mourinho gave an interview to Spanish newspaper ABC. He reviews the most important aspects of this year and says Higuain and Sahin will be on the team next year. He further acknowledges that Adam will leave the team because he wants to play more games and it is difficult with Casillas.

Jose Mourinho

"My objective is to try to win more league titles with Real Madrid. I am delighted to stay on. I needed to coach this team in order for my career to be complete, but winning with Real Madrid is more important than coaching or winning with the team"

"My objective was to win La Liga and now I want to try to win more championships with this side. I have two years left on my contract and my family and I are happy with a stability we never had before due to moving every two or three years. We are delighted to remain here"

"President Florentino Perez managed to achieve the difficult task of getting me excited about his project. He told me Real Madrid needed me and that I needed Real Madrid to round up my career after winning the Champions League with Inter Milan. I am grateful to the President for convincing me to take that step and for his support. Coaching Real Madrid has been, and will continue to be, the toughest job in my career"

"My life's objective is not to defeat Barcelona, but it was very important to win the league title in order to break their run of late. It was necessary for Real Madrid, in their condition of the most important club in history, to prevent their national dominance from increasing"

"It is very difficult to talk about cycles, but I do think it is clear that Real Madrid are better than they were two years ago. And nothing will be the same again. We have not won the Champions League, but this team did not even reach the quarterfinals a few years back, while we have managed to play the semifinals two straight years, losing one of them in the penalty shootout. Real Madrid cannot win all the time, but they should always come close"

"Tell critics to look at my results. The richness of my career comes from coaching in different countries. You cannot win in Spain if you play like you did in Italy"

"I have managed to transform the mentality of my players, who used to think playing flashy football was enough. It is not enough with me. Talent is essential, but emotion, ambition and feeling are as important. We have a very good staff comprising Rui Faria, Silvino, Morais and Karanka. Most of my players are now better than they were before they started working with me"

"I love Real Madrid's beautiful game. I like straightforward, dynamic, fast and intense football with fast transitions. I love the football Real Madrid have played this year. They have been similar to the Porto side with which I won the Champions League and the UEFA Cup"

Jose Mourinho celebrates the Spanish league championship

"Leading is difficult. You have to stimulate your men and show both sides with them. Casillas once said to me, 'There were times this season in which you put a lot of pressure on us and were rough on the the group.' I laughed, but I knew what I was doing and what I wanted to provoke. I also showed a gentler side, like when we lost against Bayern Munchen. 'Relax,' I said to them then, 'You have already won the league title.' You have to bring the best out of everyone. A coach who doesn't like to act this way with his players won't last too long on the team"

"I have very good memories of my time with Guardiola. I met him when he was a player and I an assistant coach. I have never wanted to seem perfect and I have never hidden my defects. I have not done this outside of football either. Nobody is perfect and I am not going to change at 49. I've always been indepenedent and I have never worried about personal attacks. They do hurt when my children read them, but I simply tell them nothing's the matter"

"You have to handle special responsibility to be a player or a coach at Real Madrid, but it helps you grow. The first time Florentino Perez spoke to me he said: 'If you want to be one of the best coaches in history you have to come to Real Madrid.' I agree. My credo is that people who work in football have to love the sport and Real Madrid or whichever club they're at. It is very difficult to achieve objectives without creating an ambitious atmosphere. Everyone here helped win the title. I told the President and Director General Jose Angel Sanchez months ago that I would stay on and that I had nothing to do with any club that wanted me"

"Higuain will stay on. He has a good contract for many years. The club may receive a 40, 50 or 60 million euro offer, but they will not sell. My two centre forwards next season will be Higuain and Benzema. That's all there is to it"

"Real Madrid are in the goalkeeper market because Adan doesn't want to continue on the team. I have to convince him, to stay. I have even asked Iker for help! There are no problems between Casillas and myself. The whole situation of having to look for a replacement for Adan became a story of wanting to get rid of Casillas in the press"

"Pepe had a great season and people should acknowledge that. Many in the situation he is been in and with everyhting he is withstood would have left for Italy or England. When we talked about his contract extension he always wanted to stay"

"Benzema is very good and he is responsible for his transformation. He managed to overcome the small fears and insecurities he had in his first two seasons on the team and had a great campaign"

"Sahin will also stay. He never had a full preseason with us, but he will now"

Jose Mourinho wants a right back

Mourinho wants to fit in, definitely, all the pieces in what will be his third season as head of Real Madrid. For this, he gives priority to the signing of a good right back, a player who could play on the right side of the defense and alternate the place with Arbeloa.

Alvaro Arbeloa

This season has been shown that in this position there is a deficit. The Portuguese coach has already used up to eight players in the right wing. He began with Sergio Ramos as a starter, but Carvalho's injury caused the Seville player to settle in the position of central defender. Earlier in the preseason, Mourinho tried with Varane. The Frenchman played against Hertha Berlin in what was an experiment to see what performance could offer this young player like '2'. He did not take over this demarcation. Raphael Varane is considered a pure central defender.

Raul Albiol has been the ultimate test. He played in Granada, moved to the right side and with little influence in this very specific zone of the field. There have been more players who have held this place, even though Arbeloa has been starter for the Portuguese coach, benefiting from the relocation of Sergio Ramos.

Fabio Coentrao was chosen for the match Real Madrid against Barcelona at the Bernabeu in the league. Against Guardiola's team have also played on the right side Lass and Altintop in the Cup matches. A total of eight players for a position. Mourinho now wants to close the circle with a new recruit who will have to take a leap of quality to allow the team to continue growing.

Jose Mourinho: The Special Four

Jose Mourinho is about to become 'The Special Four'. Portuguese will be the first coach in history to be champion in four of the major European leagues if Real Madrid wins the Spanish championship in the three matches remaining.

The Special Four: Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho

The slogan 'where goes, wins' can be applied perfectly to Real Madrid manager. He has demonstrated there where he has trained. Starting from Portugal, where in command of the Porto won two league titles (02-03 and 03-04), to England (two Premier Leagues with Chelsea (in the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons) and ending in Italy with his two Scudetto at Internazionale (08-09 and 09-10), just before landing at the Bernabeu, where he is close to get his first Spanish League.

And with a record numbers. Real Madrid can reach 100 points. And in just two seasons has already matched Boskov's victories. Mourinho is the fifth coach with more wins in the league with Real Madrid, but has reached in 73 matches, 98 of the Serbian. Mou has six leagues in three different countries and are close to becoming seven in four different championships. The only thing missing, and will attempt to achieve the next year, is his third Champions League with three different teams, unprecedented.

The nearest approach to Mourinho in European leagues is Van Gaal. The Dutchman, (Mourinho was under his orders for two seasons in FC Barcelona) has under his belt three Dutch leagues with Ajax (93-94, 94-95 and 95 - 96) and two Spanish titles in Barcelona (97 -98 and 98-99). From a small club like AZ Alkmaar, made very good results in the Dutch League winning again the Eredivisie in the 2008-2009 season and then won a German title managing Bayern Munich (09-10).

With two different League Championships there is a large group of coaches, starting with the legendary Helenio Herrera, who won in Italy with Inter and in Spain with Barca and Atletico Madrid. In the Calcio and in the Spanish League also won Boskov (Sampdoria and Real Madrid) and Capello (Milan, Roma and Real Madrid). Arsene Wenger got the Championnat (Monaco) and the Premiership (Arsenal). Carlo Ancelotti won in Italy with AC Milan and in England with Chelsea. Now is fighting for the French League with PSG.

Jose Mourinho negotiates with Ibrahimovic

According to Spanish media information, Jose Mourinho is planning an astonishing signing for the next season. This is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The arrival of Milan striker also could be used to find a way out of Kaka and Higuain, two players who now have foot and a half off the team.

The report said that Mourinho called the Swedish to ask for his willingness to leave the Calcio and land at the Bernabeu stadium. It is not easy to come by, but the Portuguese has already taken the first steps to achieve it. Five weeks ago, Mourinho took the phone and called Zlatan Ibrahimovic (30). The message was direct: "Do you want to come to Real Madrid? If so, get ready. I will try." Player's answer was yes, so the Portuguese confirmed that he will try his signing. A very difficult task in any case.

Milan would only let him leave, he is the big star of the team, in exchange for a white player in the squad. Here lies the importance of Higuain and Kaka, the two problems that Florentino Perez has on the table based on this information. Either would be viewed favorably by the Italian side.

Ibrahimovic played for Mourinho at Inter Milan in the 2008-2009 season, in which the performance of 'Ibracadabra' was exceptional: 47 games and 29 goals. Since then, the admiration was mutual, and they have maintained contact, something they have never hidden and could facilitate the operation.

Mino Raiola, player's agent, has become the strongman of the board of Milan at the time of the negotiations for the signings and exits of players, which could facilitate the transaction. Ibrahimovic is the top scorer of the Italian championship, a title that already achieved with Mourinho's Inter, signing his best year in the seven seasons has been in Italy, defending the shirts of Juventus, Inter and Milan now. The Swedish has been voted the best player in Italy in 2008, 2009 and 2011.

Jose Mourinho: "I am proud of my players"

Jose Mourinho was proud of his players despite the elimination of the Champions League competition against Bayern Munchen and confirmed he will continue training the white team next year.

Mourinho attending the press conference after lost against Bayern Munchen
Mourinho was proud of his players

"I think it is difficult for any team to reach the semifinals two straight campaigns and it is also difficult for a coach to reach them six times in eight years. We deserved to win because both games were tight. It is more difficult to play this match when you are still in the fight to win the league title than when you are not. I remember the semifinals I lost with Chelsea against Liverpool. They faced Fulham in the previous clash with their reserve players, while we used our main men in our weekend clash and ended up suffering from that".

"It is our fault because we would have used different players in our previous game if we were not fighting to win the league title. My men gave a fantastic performance. It is difficult to overcome a 2-1 result. They knew they could not make any mistakes and felt great pressure. They were also exhausted in the penalty shootout. Together, both sides missed five penalties. Only those who shoot miss. I do not miss because I do not shoot them. Those who miss have balls and are not selfish. They do their best for the team. I am incredibly proud of my men".

"Everyone makes mistakes. Superhumans only exist in the movies. These men are the best at their level, but people criticise them when they miss a shot. These critics are like people who get exhausted by climbing two flights of stairs and badly need a lift. My men ran like animals despite the pressure and missed in the final stretch, but what do you expect them to do? Would you rather see them die or see Bayern drawing the match? They played to the limit. Iam not here to make excuses, especially for our opponent. Teams that win two or three titles in one season achieve something incredible, but it is very difficult to reach the semifinals in two consecutive campaigns".

"The final will be disputed between the fifth team in the Premier League and the runners-up in the Bundesliga, and both used their reserve players this weekend, while Real Madrid and Barcelona faced each other in the most important match of the season in the Spanish league. People listened to me when I said the calendar had to be adjusted in these circumstances in Italy, and it made me happy. I don't have that power or enjoy such respect for my opinions here in Spain. We've started the most important month of the season with mid-week games and it is resulted in yesterday's and tonight's results. Bayern won and were luckier than us".

"The squad feels proud. The players know they have nothing to be sorry for. I have told them to go home to their wives and girlfriends and not hide because they have nothing to be ashamed about. I will absolutely try to win this title again with this team. I want to win with these players. It was important for the club and for us to win the Copa del Rey last season. We need six points to win the league and it would be fantastic to do so. This team has great room for improvement and so does the club. Clubs have to adapt to the times. If they believe I can continue to add to the team by staying on, and my players believe so too, then I feel I will stay".

"I feel the pressure of knowing my players are subjected to great pressure. I currently enjoy the joy of others more than my own, and the same goes during bad times. That's why this hurts. These players have worked very hard. There are four games left in the season and we have to take the six points we need like we ahve done till now: on our own. We worked hard and fought mightily. We will have had a good season if we win the league title and it will allow my men to feel they've done a good job. We will be here fighting for the Champions League again next season".

"The final will be a good match and I would like Chelsea to win, but I have great respect for Bayern Munchen. Chelsea were heroic yesterday and I know some people believe they are the lords of the game and therefore entitled to criticise Chelsea or Inter Milan's victory two years ago. I know the Blues behaved like heroes. Chelsea deserve it and Bayern are there too".

Mourinho will fulfill his contract until 2014

Jose Mourinho will be linked to Real Madrid the two years remaining on contract and will do because the Real Madrid board is going to give him more power and improve economic conditions of his assistants, as published by the Spanish daily 'El Mundo'.

Jose Mourinho, Rui Faria and Aitor Karanka

According to that information, released yesterday in other media, in the coming weeks will be made official the decision that the Portuguese coach will fulfill his contract with Real Madrid and will stay at the club until at least June 2014. To reach this agreement, the board will strengthen the conditions of his contract, giving more power to Mourinho and improving the economic conditions of Aitor Karanka, Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais.

Jose Mourinho came to consider his departure from Santiago Bernabeu, especially following the whistles of some of the fans from the stands of the stadium a few months ago, but seems to have finally decided to stay in the Spanish capital. Not the first time that Mourinho ponders the possibility to leave Madrid. Last season had a fight with Jorge Valdano from which emerged victorious.

Mourinho: "Coentrao has played a good match"

Mourinho at press conference before the defeat against Bayern Munchen
Mourinho attending the press conference

"I do not know if there is failure on the Mario Gomez's goal, I am away and could not see it. But I know Coentrao has made a good match. He had a difficult mission and fulfilled. I hate the question because there are other players who have failed in other games and nothing is said". In this way, Jose Mourinho, coach of Real Madrid, answered the question about the mistake of Fabio Coentrao in Bayern's second goal, which put the semifinal 2-1 and obligates Real Madrid to come back at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Still, Mourinho is optimistic about the second leg: "I am optimistic. I believe a draw would have been fairer, but that is football for you: whoever scores wins. It does not matter if you do so in the first or last minute. This result is not awful because it does not force us to make an historic comeback at home. We will have to earn a normal result and I think we are ready to respond. We will start preparing for it after Saturday's match. Real Madrid always play to win and the team is ready to respond in a game in which the crowd will surely want to help".

Furthermore, the Portuguese coach considered that his team did not deserve to lose the match: "We wanted to win tonight. We conceded a goal from a set piece in the first half, during which we played our best. We then drew the score and we felt it was difficult to win even though we did our best at times. Both sides made mistakes and Bayern scored when the it seemed the game would end in a draw. Their first goal was offside, but I cannot criticise the referee for that. I do not feel negative about it".

Finally, Mourinho referred to the fitness of his players: "This is April and we have reached this far after playing very demanding games that we were forced to win, so it is normal for some players to fail to be in optimum form. I think this is normal at this stage".

Two-match ban for Mourinho

Alfredo Florez, single judge of the Spanish Football Competition Committee, gave yesterday his verdict on events that occurred in the second leg of the SuperCup of Spain. The Mourinho's finger in the eye of Tito Vilanova has caused a two-match ban and a 600 euros fine for the coach of Real Madrid. Competition Committee has considered it a mild action so Mourinho will miss mathces on the next round of the Spanish SuperCup, never in the Spanish League nor King's Cup (Spanish Cup).

In the case of Tito Vilanova, the penalty is only one game and is fined 600 euros. Like the Portuguese, only to apply in the Spanish SuperCup. Now both clubs have the option to appeal to the Appeals Committee, but Real Madrid and Barcelona have accepted the sanction.

Do not forget that it all started when, on August 22, the single judge of Competition decided to open a extraordinary file in which Mourinho's attitude was considered serious and the acts of the Barcelona's coach assistant as mild reaction. The opening of this file was something unprecedented. For years it did not happen because the Competition Committee only evaluates facts in the file of arbitration.

Then, the dossier went to the hands of the judge, Rafael Alonso. This occurred in late August so the decision would not take place until early October because of all the bureaucratic process. It was then when the time came all key, the appeals process. Barcelona did not submit, but Real Madrid did.

The line of argument of Real Madrid, among many things, was that if was considered the Mourinho's acts as serious actions, should be the same with the aggression of David Villa to Özil. Also, Real Madrid understood that there was provocation of Barca coach and felt that there was no harmful element. That is, Tito Vilanova never had to receive medical care by the action of Mourinho.

The judge Alonso analyzed all the elements and appreciated a penalty to Mourinho of two to three games, but reduced the rating of serious, as was initially, to mild. Only this change meant that Mourinho no longer would have to serve the penalty in the League or Cup, it would always be in the same competition, the Super Cup of Spain.

Then it was reported back to the clubs so they could file new claims, a period which expired on Tuesday. After the period, Rafael Alonso issued his final proposal to the single judge of the Competition Committee, Alfredo Florez, who made it official yesterday.
